strange headlight lens
I purchased a bike that reportedly came from South Africa. It has a headlight lens that I have not seen before with a diamond cut in the center. The attached photo shows the lens in the correct position with the sharp points on the diamond pointing up and down. I was told that the lens was used during WWII. Does anyone have any ideas on the history of this lens?

Re: strange headlight lens
It definitely has that "European" look to it. Maybe it is a Lucas aftermarket part for H-D's or
somebody swiped it off of a Jag, Lagonda or RR.

Re: strange headlight lens
H-D through the WWII era used a smaller headlamp than the 7" Guide that HydraGlides and later enjoyed. I think that is a 7" that we see in the pic?
Whatever it is, even though an AMCA judge is required to stigmatize it, it is a very novel and enviable piece o' glass.
