Mini Battery and High output Generator ???
I have a Cycle Electric high output generator and a V-Twin AGM mini 12 volt-6 amp battery. Will the high output generator be ok with this battery ?
Thanks,
Kevin

Sandrooney,
Did you mean to say "Low Output Regulator"?Sandrooney wrote:I have a Cycle Electric high output generator and a V-Twin AGM mini 12 volt-6 amp battery. Will the high output generator be ok with this battery ?

Re: Mini Battery and High output Generator ???
It says high output on the box. I haven't installed either one yet. Thanks

It will be cheaper to find a battery with more capacity than to change your regulator. There are AGM batteries that will fit onto a wrap around tank, or you can use the old standby Yuasa 12n5.5 battery, but you'll need to add water weekly.

Testing assumptions so please correct me if I'm wrong...
Shouldn't the regulator automatically compensate charge current to suit prevailing battery voltage condition? If this is true when battery reaches target voltage, the regulator will cut current down irrespective of how big a generator is or how small a battery.

Re: Mini Battery and High output Generator ???
I spoke with our local vintage expert who is where I get my parts and he said that combination is what he runs on all his old bikes (and he has a lot of them) he said it is the way to go.
Thanks,
Kevin

This was my thought process
