Fork terminal board

#1

Post by 1964FLDUO »

I need to make a fork terminal board and I am assuming they are made from a material similar to bakelite. Does anyone know where to get bakelite these days?

It is not bakelite, it is phenolic, which is a rosin impregnated fabric composition material. And why do you need to make one as virtually every supplier sells them with the correct shape and markings?

Two reasons: shipping time, and I try to buy as little as possible from the aftermarket.

Would you see any problem with making it out of metal like the coil terminal and insulating it?

To stay on schedule I need to get the wiring done this weekend and there is no way I can get one shipped to me by tomorrow.

If you have an electronics supply store anywhere near you they should be able to provide it. It is used for circuit boards and electronic projects, available in all shapes and sizes, and colors too! :D

here's a mail order place for the folks that don't mind waiting a few days:

Radio Shack used to carry a lot of that but I don't think they handle much of that kind of stuff anymore.
