Motor mount information

#1

Post by Service-Guy »

HELP !!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully someone out there can help me with this information. I'm trying to make a block for checking the motor mounts on Panhead frames. The information I need is the exact height difference between the front and rear motor mount, the mounting bolt spacing (center to center) right to left, and the mounting bolt spacing (center to center) front to rear.
I have seen the blueprints shown on this forum and cannot make out the numbers. I have tried measuring the cases but the holes are to worn to be accurate. As I stated at the start HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, does anyone know where I can buy blueprints for frames or engines ?

Thank you

All that information is in the '59-'69 factory service manual. All Pan and Shovel frame motor mount info is the same, regardless of frame type, rigid, or swing arm.
Those manuals are common, you should have one!

Measure the mount holes CtoC on a known straight frame.

My factory manual shows center to center, height and length. What manual are you looking at?

ive run my pan for forty years, only recently did i discover that at the factory it appears they used shims under the bolt location to set the motors in the frames. no shims under mine guess im lucky. saw these shims in a catalog.
