panhead,STD heads C.V. carb
Well...I decided to go back asswards and say the hell with new harleys....I'm goin back to what I truly loved the most...A panhead,51 year by title and she's turnin into a nice lookin Bobber.
Here's my question:I'm using STD heads with the shubbel type o-ring manifold.I want to use a C.V. carb...........What intake and adaptor do I need for using the C.V.?
The motor is stock for the exception of an "A" grind and KB 9-1 pistons

When I put a CV on my shovel Iused a S&S manifold with a CCI black rubber/metal adapter..It had the 2 holes to mate to the S&S and a band typehose clamp to fit the carb, think it was a 38mm-40mm size,,,BUT had to open up bolts holes on the flange for the 3/8 bolts..

Bibs, the addaptor presses on real nice with a little JB Weld, check for linkage clearance first at the front head, I removed part of the cable bracket since I was only using one cable anyway, but still had to tip the carb to the rear a bit to clear. I used an old center case bolt bracket to help support the carb. (just like an S&S) Let me know if you need jetting info. Mike

I use an S&S intake (for o-ring panheads) and the press-on adapter shown above. I also shortend my S&S intake to pull the carb in tighter to the engine. Finally I had the intake offset slightly to the rear to make more room between the throttle linkage and the front head.

Nuther one...Them handlebars are too tall for the brake cable...so I shortened 'em but didnt have time to take a picture of 'em.

Bibs
Use the one from ebay as posted above , I have it on both my Pans ,with an S&S manifold . They don't get in the way for me at all ,but set it up like caschnd1, if it gets in your way on the bobber. I also have KB 9-1 pistons in the older Pan . There are a few who think they a junk ,but the have worked for me for about five years.
"There's no replacement for displacement ", (that was a saying of one of the members here from a long time ago)and I know you will be going for it , was that 93 or some thing.

Yeah Mike....I got 93" in one of my motors....the pan I'm bilden is tame by comparrison and it has the 9-1's by KB....damn fine pistons
Russell(smith cycle and machine) set the 93 up loose...'bout .002 piston to cylinder wall clearence.
The pan is only .020 over 74" but the pistons are goin in as spec. which is 1 1/2 thou. p/cyl wall clearence.................I'm gonna see if I can score that manifold adaptor off egay.

Yeah....I agree but KB claims you can run as tight as 7 tenths which is twice as tight....damifino.
