Stock manifold 1959 pan

#1

Post by 59Panman »

I currently have the stock Linkert on my 59 Pan. The manifold, 4 bolt has the number of 20027-55 but the original part numbers I am finding on the web and in my parts book states it should be 27027-55 "A". My clamps on my O-rings keep sliding due to the fact that the intake manifold seems smaller on the diameter than on the head intake.
Does anyone here have the same manifold 27027-55?

Thanks,

well,
my -55A is made from aluminum
I also have a cast irom manifold, but it has been chromed, so the #'s are gone. I recall seeing these at the swap the # on it was -55.

I just went and took a measurement from both and got this
-55A is: 1.990 OD alum. used from 58-65
-55 is: 2.000 OD cast iron used from 55-57

Mbskeam,

Thanks, I will check the measurements once I can get some time. So, it seems as if the correct part number for my 59 is the 27027-55A which is aluminum.

Are there any advantages or disadvantages in using the aluminum manifold over the cast?

I purchased the aluminum manifold 27027-55A off ebay. I will check this and my intake spicot once I receive my calipers. Then I will compare to the cast one I have.
