what carb?
38 VM?

this is on a 88"
vm38, I have a 35 idle and a 330 main, all the other parts are stock, as in what came with the carb.
I also run the needle at the highest clip setting, (the C-clip is in the groove at the top).this will make it run rich or lean at 1/8 to 1/3 throttle, I moved it 2 slots and it ran rich so it went back to what I have run for years, this will fine tune it
I also drilled out the fixed choke jet from .025 to .038, as it was not getting fuel that it needed to start a cold 88", there is a small air port in the bowl that I think I will plug to see if it will draw more fuel on choke, kinda like a miki 42 flat slide, these just draw straight up from the fuel bowl with no air vent, and it starts a 95" up real nice all the way into the teens

on my 74" I had a 25 idle and a 280 main, needle is the same as above.
the choke supply worked like it came set up with. .025 jet
also make sure you have no intake leaks.......

oh.........
the air fuel screw, start at 1-1/2 turns out.
if its less then 1 turn you need a bigger idle jet and if its more than 2-1/2 turns you need a smaller idle jet.
mine ends up at 1-1/2 to 2 turns
