58 & early 59 foot brake levers.there different !! ?

I've been reassembling a 59 pan from 59 and 1961 parts .The 61 foot brake lever has a nice white foot rubber on it , but when I bolted it on the clevis rod coming out of the master cyl.was at to much of an upward angle and it was kinda binding .I put the one on without the rubber and the hole the clevis pin goes through is lower down and it lines up nice .. Now I gfet looking and I want to use the one off the 61 with the rubber, I see 58-early 59 was one part number ,late 59 and upward was a different part number 42402-59 .The master cyl and everything else looks the same there's only one bracket ,so I cant see what might be the difference . Anyone know what the difference could be? I have the mounting bracket off the 59 but the book shows it's suposed to be the same from 58 on up.

I didn't notice the bend ,but since ones on the bike its hard to match up ,but the 61 model has the clevis hole a little bit higher up .with everything else being for 58 and up should I not be able to use the one off the 61 even with the bend ? How come the holes higfher? can I slant something to line it up better ? I like the white pedal cause the bike is red with white slash and white footboards and hand grips, and seat.

So swap out the white pedal if that is what it takes. Very easy to do! Just knock it of and put it on the other one.
