Rear brake line T

#1

Post by craig60pan »

I am looking for the correct rear brake line t for a 60 FL. I have seen two part numbers 42310-58 and 83566-51. Can anyone shed some light on this? What is the difference, which one is correct? It looks like the 83566-51 is available as an aftermarket item, 42310-58 looks pretty rare.
Thanks

Craig: Because this is way after you posted I am gonna email the answer to you as well, but here it is.

I was initially confused, as you transposed two of the numbers...42301-58 is the number you were referring to. You had typed 42310-58, which is probably why you found it to be rare. The way it is worded in the book is confusing. The 42301-58 is the brake line going from the T fitting to the hose. The T fitting itself is the 83566-51 (1958-1969) part number. The T is available readily enough. I don't know about availability of the lines themselves, as I just go to Auto Zone or whatever and bend my own.
