Front Disc brake

#1

Post by 55FL »

Afternoon all,
Back in the 70's and as recent as 2-3 years ago I remember seeing mounts that would adapt a disc rotor to a star wheel and enable one to mount a disc brake on the old stock springer. Anyone have experience or a line on such animal.
thanks,
John

I think V-Twin has a disc brake kit for springers that uses the star hub. Seems to me it is from Holland?

Here's a link to a previous post about how I made an adapter for a front disk brake. So far it seems to be working well.

Panhead,
Yes I remember seeing it listed there but recently no mention of it on their website and no response from them to direct inquiries.

Dave,
By any chance do you have the specs for the spacer you had made or a template ?
I have the disc, master cylider and really don't want to give Teds $400+ for a complete kit.
Thanks much,

John
