1960 FLH Rear Brake Drum Question

#1

Post by pistol pete »

Hi all,

Need some help again. It's time for me to replace my rear brake drum. I've got the narrow 1 1/4" shoes with the side plate that sits in the drum. The drum has raised letters - part no. 41409-58A. . I'm having a hard time finding that particular drum. I've located plenty of 41400-58C drums. Are the two drums interchangable and what's the difference between the two.

Thanks for the help.

As H-D upgraded parts they generally changed the casting number and often added suffixes on the part number. In all cases if they retain the original part number they interchange with only a minor cosmetic difference in the casting.

Sir,

Thank you for the reply and clarification. Should be able to find a drum pretty easy. Any brand recommendations if I have to go after market.

Thanks again

Mark,

Thanks for the link. Got the pan to go, now I should be able to make it stop.

Thanks again.
