I'm looking into buying a '65 and I couldn't see any markings on the under side of the heads and I mean none . Does that mean they could be some kind of after market or is that the way they are . Just curious , I'm going to buy it any way because the numbers ( belly # s too )are good and clean title. Its not stock but has stock motor , tranny and frame ( frames been cleaned up with filler . When I pick her up I'll post a photo here .
Cotten I think you own a 65 don't ya ,any one else?

4thGear!
I think the -56 raised casting number is on the inside; I'll have to look for clues tomorrow, if my feeble memory allows.

Yup, Cotten is right on. I just looked at some pictures I took of my heads and the raised casting numbers are inside under the rocker cover.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll look when and if I have to take her apart. It is so funny that you have to get creative on financing to buy an old Harley, these people have no clue of what they are worth.
