newer heads on oler pan

#1

Post by doc308 »

What mods would have to be made in order to bolt newer pan heads ( ie, with the o-ring manifold) to an earlier ,1950, engine? I know that some of the newer pan heads did not have an external oiling system. Would these just bolt onto the earlier motor without any modification?

Thanks.

Doc. Heres how it works. 56-62 rubber band style heads will fit any pan motor but 63-65 have the external oiler line and will not work. Bob

So, even the internal oil passages line up? It seems that I read somewhere that in converting some years to others, one hade to modify the oil system(?) Maybe it was converting to the external oil-line panheads(?)
