Rocker assembly end play

#1

Post by Fast Ed 53 »

I know we've hashed out the correct methods of reconditioning rocker assm. but I seem to have more of a end play problem with the shaft moving back and forth in the blocks. Is there a way of fixing this without replacing the blocks. Thank's, Ed

You can silver-solder thrustfaces upon the block, and then lathe cut them upon a mandrel: a lot of hassle for a very small problem, especially when blocks are so common.

Thank's Cotten, I wasn't sure about the after market blocks. I'll start looking at the swap meets for a set that doesn't show much wear. Ed

Cotten, I'm not that far (4.5-5 hr.) and I would like to come up and pick up a set. I'm off work on the weekends and I have next Mon. off, let me know when it would be convenient for you and I'll come up.
Thank's, Ed
