Cometic head gaskets

#1

Post by socalrider »

Anyone ever use the cometic mls ( muliti layer steel ) head gaskets ? The outer layer is Viton. They also are available for the cylinder base.
Gracias,

I used them on my Evo sporty, and haven't had any issues yet (3000+ miles). One thing I did was give them a light coat of copper gasket spray. It seems to really help prevent gasket leaks.

Just my 2 cents worth.....I used them back years ago and had issues. Not fun re doing stuff because of a faulty gasket. As Richie stated he is correct.
My dealings were in the 90's so I guess they are still crap.

My experience with the Cometic MLS head gaskets on my '61 Pan has been just the opposite. 10750 miles over the last few years & no problems to date. YMMV.
