speedo reads 2x actual speed

#1

Post by BastardBoy »

My 52 Panhead speedo reads 2x actual speed. I know the speedometer was replaced by the previous owner, so that probably created issue. Is there a way I can rectify the issue, short of replacing the speedometer?

Thanks

2 types of speedometers : ratio 1:1 and 2:1

see speedo2.jpg, right bottom of page, to chose ratio

speedodrive gear : i do not think they can be interchanged because of the different number of teeth

guess you need to change the speedometer to a 2:1 type

Had the same problem, also had to change the speedo
