Another speedometer- speedo drive question.
Ok I know this question has probably already been answered but I cant find it. I have a 11 tooth speedo drive. and a 2:1 speedometer. The speedo is aftermarket. did I get the right one or do I need the 1:1 . or maybe I should just finish building it and if Im putting around town and the speedo says I'm doing 50 or 60 then I would know.

Re: Another speedometer- speedo drive question.
Doug,
You should be okay. I just replaced my eleven tooth drive with a 2:1 head and everything works fine.
fyi - The new drives uses a plastic gear versus the original steel cut gear. : (

Re: Another speedometer- speedo drive question.
The speedo drive being plastic doesn't surprize me someone told me in the late 90's they started using nylon gears in the rearends of ford trucks. if thats true then hopefully it'll work for your speedo drive. I got lucky My tranny came with the original drive and it looks like its brand new. Thanks I was starting to sweat about having to order a new speedo head.
