Harley Racing Speedometer

#1

Post by wantapanrealbad »

Hi List,

I am starting to go through the "pile" that is supposed to be a 56 Panhead someday. The speedometer that came with the bike is in fabulous condition (almost NOS) but its a weird one. The needle swings the other way (like an old Triumph). Some research revealed that it is actually a racing speedometer (1954 and later) that was supposed to be used with a corbin drive. Before I try to trade this off for the correct 56 I though I would ask the list if anyone had an application for the weird speedo or had a correct 56 to trade.

Thanks,

Joe

I'm looking for a 1952's model, NOS. If you'got this speedo, sure, I'm your man.

Its a racing speedometer, it does not run off the transmission like a conventional drive. It takes a corbin drive, I think like the Indians had. The needle swings from right to left. Is that what you are looking for?
