I have a stewart warner police special speedometer . it has a black face with white numbers and lettering. what years were these used on? is there and way of identifying what year it is? any input is appreciated thanks guys. Diesel

If you're lucky and the speedo is still original and fairly clean you should be able to read the ink stamp on the back of the housing, that code will tell you when the unit was made. Let us know what you find out.

Well according to the chart its a 540 an L12 which translates to 540an model made december 1967. Kinda a bummer but pretty cool anyways. Its in exceptional shape the face is not faded at all the trim is still shiney no pitting and the glass has no scratches. the ink stamp is dark and clear to read. thanks for the help!!
