Spring Seat mounts

Any one have any good pics or info on how to install and after market 2 spring seat mouns, J&P has the bolt on mount kit that im ordering and not too sure how it all works together, im sure I can figure it out, but any pics would help!

No its just going to be the mount to the frame that look like bolts with the spring nipple then 5" springs then the seat bolts

I've used those brackets in the past and don't recommend them. A seat-post is far superior! But if your mind is made up, there are plenty of pics in the gallery you could look thru for one...Mike

I like them because they look "cleaner" to me, I have never used either but I greatly appreciate your input, and ill keep it in mind, Im not sure how well they work, but I will try it out. and will be lookin for some pics, THanks!

itsRICH!---This is going to depend on your taste & style of riding!.---As panacea said -(not recomended)--I can attest to that to!,-If your more into a cleaner stripped/bob-type look then skies the limit!--As for comfort,you cant beat a FACTORY POGO!,My pan is far from original 1958flh--(bit of this bit of that!)--& The seat is a 80s Mustang Pillow-seat. So its on the frame & when I take long trips--I feel it after 3hrs.!//but worse is for the ol-Lady!--Ass on that Pillow over the rear-wheel is a bitch!--& we aint in our 30s anymore .As far as riding a rigid all my life/-I wouldnt change it for anything!--Bit that rigid with a solo-Pogo set-up is by far the best COMFY ride you can get!--Better then NEW bikes by far!.---Just 1-mans EXP. & recomendation!----Stay-Upright!----RICHIE

If you're talking about the strap piece with tubular ends that bolts to the fender mounts, expect it to start bending under your weight quickly.
The springs deform and fail after one or two seasons, they're not made like they were back in the 60s/70s.
Other than that, this is a great way to run a Bates style solo seat.

Check out the chopper shox site, I run these, made my own seat pan to fit a big ass. I’d love to run a pogo but for long arms and legs they set me too far forward on the machine. I might yet figure a way to move the pogo to the rear a bit, the hitch being it would still work properly

I would avoid drilling holes thru the frame rails...Here's a pic of the seat on my 49, believe it or not the seat post was still active...Mike

JP cycles approx. 40-50 bucks, they have weld on ones as well for 1" and 1.25" frames

You've got it. If you need to have a (insert buzz-word) (Chopper or Bobber), these mounts are a good, non-destructive alternative. These old frames need to be preserved, but they're not totally sacred or untouchable .
