I used a dot of Permatex on the end of the trim-tip screws to mark the hole positions, Then after checking to be sure the screws were identically spaced on the fender tip itself, I measured the distance from fender bottom to my mark. I ended up having to elongated one of the holes to make the tip sit right. Side trim pieces use T-bolts. The side trim narrows at the tip, so that T-head needs to be ground down a little, but not too much. I used a hand file to finesse the T-head to barely be able to slide in the shallow lip that holds them into the strip.

Here's some more. The trim strip holes can be where you want them, since the T-bolts slide in the trim channels. You get two T-bolts per strip. The strips are positioned so that the bottom of the strip is even with the bottom edge of the fender.
