1952 fender(s)

#1

Post by awander »

So I dumped the '52 in my driveway last weekend(wet grass, and going to fast around the bend).

I dented the front fender, and broke the rear one. The left-side vertical brace broke, and there is now a tear in the right side at 1 0'clock, if you're looking at it from the right.

I know these fenders are repops, but even so, i am surprised how thin and cheesy they are.

Does anyone know where I could get a set of original fenders without breaking the bank? Or if there are any good reproductions out there?

The replica front fender from V-Twin isn't too bad, but has extra holes in the nose that the trim doesn't hide. I tried to use a similar rear fender,
but found it so twisted and bent, that I sent it back. You might have better luck, just make sure your dealer will take it back.

Any stock front fender up to about 82 will work, if you're not too particular about originality. Stock late 51 thru 54 rear fenders can be found at the big swap meets or on e-bay.
