Swing arm bearing seal...
I do apologize if this is covered in another thread. I attempted to search and had no luck.
I have a 1968 frame, Hydroglide. disassembled it, motor and trans are rebuilt and the frame and swing arm have a fresh coat of powder on them. I demolished the seals that hold the swing arm bearings in. There is also a pivot bolt that goes all the way through the frame. This seems like it would be an easy replacement, but all the shops I go to say they can't get a hold of a set. I'm a little depressed cause I would really like to get this beauty back rolling. Any suggestions on a fix? I have also tried pairing it at a shop in Austin, TX that was like the walmart of bearing seals and still had no luck. Just a hair too small. Thank you.

"68" frame would be a "DUO-GLIDE" starting as of 1958 . I might have that swingarm pivot bolt in the attic, I'll look this evening ,,,, your swing arm is not made of square stock is it ?

Don't forget to pre load that sucker when you put it back together. She will wobble out from under your ass if you don't. Ray

Sweet.... thanks for the speedy response guys. No its tube. I'll take a look at V-twin but I thought I already tried them and got a "discontinued item without replacement" email.... and you are correct about the duoglide. A few too many drinks gets me a little twisted on the names. I will let you guys know about the V-twin part as soon as I figure it out.

i've never seen a 68 duoglide. not that i would think it matters for his swing arm if its a 68 frame.Panhead Ed wrote:"68" frame would be a "DUO-GLIDE" starting as of 1958 . Re: Swing arm bearing seal...
Its a frankinbike. So I am not exactly sure the nomenclature of the frame. Its a 68 with a 65 FLH motor. So its registered as a 65.... I found the rebuild kit that I need but I can't seem to find a "dealer" online. I know of one back home (I'm on the road, out of the country for work at the moment) but he said he couldn't get that part, or what ever reason. Any one know of a dealer that sells online and ships? Thanks again....

Hey thanks guys, I got the whole rebuild kit ordered and heading to the house. You wouldn't believe me if I told you how long I am been looking for this parts. I had three shops in texas laugh like it should've been the easiest thing to get, but no one ever produced. Thanks a lot!

Re: Swing arm bearing seal...
I think I might have an extra one. You need the bolt and the spacers or just the bolt?

No, I'm good now bro. I ordered an entire rebuild kit with the bolt, spacers, bearings, and seals. I have like two on back order from shops in Texas I bet I never see.Lowbikemike wrote:I think I might have an extra one. You need the bolt and the spacers or just the bolt?
