1963 Duo-Glide
Gentlemen, I recently came into ownership of my late fathers 63 Pan. He had stripped the front and rear crash bars as well as the saddle bags and guards, the luggage rack and the buddy seat. Minus one rebuild on the motor and one re-upholstery job on the buddy seat the bike is bone stock, original evrything and I have all the parts he removed except the hardbags. I have put the buddy seat back on as well as the luggage rack but I am having a helluva time trying to figure out where the rear crash bars bolt up as well as the sadddle bag guards. I know I am missing some of the bracketry for the saddlebag gaurds so if any of you have any pics or diagrams for those I would really appreciate your help. Also I have a picture of the bike with front turn signals but no spot lamps, did they come that way or did someone remove the spotlamps and leave the blinkers? And what are the green lenses on the back of the headlight housing? I'm sure they're an indicator of some sort but for what? Any help will be greatly appreciated!! Thanks, Schu.

Re: 1963 Duo-Glide
OK, I'll get some pix tomorrow and post 'em over the weekend, but the rear crashbars are bolted at the top to
a rod that goes through the frame. The bottoms are bolted to existing holes on the frame. Did anyone ever turn you on
to the Duo-Glide parts book ?
The green lenses in the back of the headlight nacelle are for turn signal indicators.
Until I return from Davenport, get busy.

Re: 1963 Duo-Glide
DuoGlide62, thanks for the info brother! I have not been turned on to the parts manual as of yet but from the research I have done I'm somewhat certain the bike came as an F-1 and F-5 King of the Highway optioned model. I had somewhat assumed that's where the rear crash bars had mounted, just wasn't sure you know? The bar and the brackets for the seat booster spring are still there so I shouldn't have to much trouble with those now that my suspicions have been confirmed..thanks again. The blinkers have all been "cleaned" off so I haven't started anything on those yet but it has always eatin me up as to what those green lights on the back off the nacelle were, now I know. I noticed a seat booster spring in your attachments, is that an original item and if so is it something you'd sell? If not no biggie. I will get those crash bars on and post some pics if I have time. thanks again

Re: 1963 Duo-Glide
Time to bring up an old thread. I'm now in a pickle. The lower mount on a 58-64 rear crash bar. There are two holes in the frame were the muffler support bolt to. I know the bar bolts to the inside of the frame but to the front or the rear hole? Thanks, Bob L
