Frame question??
I am out on the road and don't have my book. Did Harley offer a hard tail frame in 1959 or was there only the Duo Glide???
Thanks
Bob

Re: Frame question??
I think Robbie meant that no, there was no hardtail in '59 and yes, there was only the duo glide.

What do you think of this frame? Ebay item #330394195697? Anyone?
Regards, Tony.

Re: Frame question??
An oddball indeed. First time I've ever a factory lookin swingarm frame, set-up for mechanical rear brake. I wonder why the date code was ground off the top motor mount. I gotta agree, the seller didn't misrepresent it when he advertised it. I'd like to see it fresh from the sandblaster....bosheff

See the commentary on that one on the AMCA site. Search under "joke of the week"!

Re: Frame question??
My that is interesting----- I have seen quite a few early duo-glide frames that had the back half of an OEM rigid frame welded to them but never the other way around! I wonder why that got done?

Re: Frame question??
What I'm tryin to access is the AMCA site that has this frame listed as the Joke of the Week. Apparently there is something strange or humerous bout this frame other than the obvious....bosheff

Re: Frame question??
I don't think it was anything other than what it is, just another mix-and-match. Robert Luland posted it originally, I guess he thought it was funny, an "export prototype"
