Wishbone frame questions

#1

Post by wahoo »

I have a wishbone frame that has been modified (raked, stretched 2" up), I want a stock dimension frame. Should I sell this one and buy a reproduction? or have this one fixed? the stretch is right above the castings for the side car loops, that are missing as well.
It has the later tool box mount, the top motor mount has been replaced so I do not have the date code for it. It has flattened down tubes, so I guess that is '53?
I do not have my Palmer's book yet, it (the book) will be here next week
I am really leaning toward a reproduction '48 or straightleg frame
I am building a '48 but it won't be totally stock ... ie not a restoration, more of a bobbed, modified bike. No seat post ( I am 6'4") run without front fender. VL fork, star hub 16" wheels.
