Help with this frame..
Hello All!
This is a 58-64 frame with a K1 date code. I am about to put it to use, but was wondering about the holes in the neck area? Can someone tell if they are supposed to be there?
Also, if anyone sees anything that does not look right, please let me know…
Thanks!
Ran

Re: Help with this frame..
The hole wouldn't have gone though the tube and It would be cheaper to have bought another frame. Bob LPanacea wrote:I believe that hole is for a puddle weld, was the neck replaced?

Re: Help with this frame..
The crashbar mount in the lower pic may have been replaced at some point in the frames life. Notice that it is considerably thicker than the lower tank mount. I may be wrong, just an observation....bosheff

Re: Help with this frame..
Ran, the two photos below are of my genuine 1962 model H-D Pan frame. It was painted when I bought it but since then I had it blasted and powdercoated. The bracket for the crashbar appears to be original. You can see the bracket is curved and it appears to be about the same thickness as the mount for the gas tanks:
Regarding the S-pipe mount, the one on my frame is vertical but I think I had one of my mates do a repair on it at some stage so I had a look at my collection of photos of other swingarm frames and the mounts on them appear vertical and they have no bend.
Eric
