I need to know if anybody besides PBI makes sprockets for the 4spd. I bought a 24 tooth to put on my new trans and jeesh, it just flops around on it like I can't believe. I pulled the old sprocket (bad teeth) off the old trans, and it fits the new trans snug, almost a tap on. It is an old Portco from the 70's, too bad they are out of business now. I am VERY un-impressed with the PBI. Movement on the splines radially allows about a 1/16 movement at the tooth back and forth, and the whole gear moves up and dowm on the shaft, that ought to work good eh????
I have scoured the net with no luck, J&P list a "less expensive alternative" Hell maybe that would be better, made in china or where-ever Thanks for the help.

Re: Trans sprockets
Where do I find Italian ones, or are you kidding Cotten? PBI is sold by Midwest, thru J&P and V-twin (Ted's) etc. All places I have looked carry PBI and no others. Where else can I look that may carry other brands? I need to get one a.s.a.p.

Re: Trans sprockets
Honestly, the ones made in Italy seem just fine.
For all I know, they may be the PBI you speak of. I'll have to check at the shop tomorrow.
