HELP Mouse Trap Spec
hi everyone i am here to pick some brains,i have a 53 Fl that was hand shift but i wanted to be foot shift so i switched the trans lid and bought a used mouse trap. The trap has new bearings, cable and spring, yesterday i was installing it but when i used the harley panhead manual 1949-1957 i could not find the spec for how high to mount it on the frame.does anyone have any clue on the height? the frame is a stock 1953 wishbone.thank you

panhead1953ohv!
The critical parameter is that the assembly must not knarf the front head's fins through its arc of operation released from the cable.
Beware also that the term "mousetrap" arises from how it can suddenly snap open and catch your fingers against those fins as you attempt to determine this clearance.
Duct tape is a useful safety device until the cable has the assembly under control.
Hope you kept your stock hardware,

Re: HELP Mouse Trap Spec
Put the clutch lever rod in the slot in the clutch release lever. Now mount the booster to the frame. Now attach the clutch lever rod to the booster. This will put ya close to where ya wanna be. Now comes the fun. Adjust the booster. At this point totally disregard the manual....bosheff

Re: HELP Mouse Trap Spec
I hand to cut the hand shift bracket off my gas tank in order to get my mouse trap high enough on the frame.
