Hello
Last week i ordered a clutch hub nut.
( see http://jwboon.com/cgi-bin/byteserver.pl ... anhead.pdf page 44 : number R2275-41).
I took the "late style " type.
Is there a difference with the "early style " type ?
It seems there is a different thread in the nut i got compared to the bad one i had.
Thought the difference was that i can put 2 seals in the late style type.
Was i wrong or did i receive a damaged nut ??
Thanks

Re: Clutch Hub Nut
As far as I can remember, the difference between the early and late nut is the early version has a groove machined in the end to hold the internal snap ring in place. The snap ring is followed by a flat washer, a spring, another flat washer, and finally a cork seal. The later nut uses an interference fit to secure the rubber seal. The early set-up was used til 64. The later nut was used from 65-E84. As far as the threads, they are both the same, therefore the nuts can be interchanged.
