hi all,
I have been new to this club. I own a 65 pan, electrical start, handclutch and mousetrap.
Now it seems that my mousetrap adjustment screw, the one with lochnut in the middel on the trap, is crewing up my clutch.
it's slipping all the time. yes, yes, yes, I did some adjustments on this screw since it was a little loose....not smart but hey.
Before turning this screw the clutch was ok.
I can shift gears but the bike is not caching up. is this a matter of mousetrap adjustment or slipping discs.
imo when the adjustment screw is out, the mousetrip gives optimized lenght on the rod and so clutch must be enaged, or is that too simple?
thanks paul, netherlands

clutch 65 FLH
Check your clutch plates if there is any oil on them. Sometimes dirt gets in the oil drain holes and the oil is not pumped out of the primary. I have wet and dry plates in my 65 FLH. They jerk and groan, but will work even when coated in oil. For adjustment you have to follow the instructions as mailed bij Panhead exactly. Check during adjusting by kickstarting your engine. If you can kickstart it, your clutch will probably not slip when riding. For maintenance on your 65 FLH consider The American Bike Shop. www.americanbikeshop.com The are specialised in Panheads. Say hi to Michel from Rien.
