Shifting

Post by PanPal »

Lately the four speed is shifting fine when up shifting, but down shifting needs a little more travel to engage properly. If I pop it down it goes right in. This tranny was rebuilt last year with all new gears and shifting forks, bearings etc. I have a ratchet top and have been thinking it might be the adjustment of the ratchet assembly. Before work this morning I checked and I think I was seeing I could move it a little as if the 2 nuts on the back have loosened. Can this be done in place? Which direction would you rotate the ratchet assembly before locking it in place?
