Just tore my 51 tranny apart and found that almost everything is garbage. I have decided to just use the case and fill it with all new innards. Been shopping on the web and have found more info than I can digest. I am wondering about close ratio gearsets and how they are going to affect performance. There are some http://www.legendmcs.com/Transmissions/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ... -sets.html which are Rev Tech and Custom Chrome in different ratios. I am looking at the 30-695 and the 30-705.
I am having trouble deciding which ratio is for me since I have not been able to ride the bike on the highway at speed. Anyone have any ideas on the quality of these gearsets? Anderson gearsets are quite a bit more expensive.
Any input?

Re: Custom Chrome vs Rev Tech trans gears
I cant say about the 4speed stuff, but the 6speed revtech CC transmissions have been bad news.
I would bite the bullet and get Andrews gears.
