When I tried to start my '62 the first time after installing a primary belt drive, the kicker shaft stuck at the bottom twice. I had to pull it back up by hand. Now it's at the bottom and I can't pull it back up. The "timing" of the kicker assembly wasn't touched since the belt was installed, so I don't think that's the problem.
I have a feeling something in the belt assembly's binding and causing this lockup, but don't know for sure. Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Kicker arm stuck at bottom
hello,
did you pull out your clutch push rod? did your throw out come off the end? and it fell down into the kicker gear assy.
sounds like you might have to pull off kicker cover.
I would try to loosen up the adj. screw for clutch to see if that helps in the kicker department.

Hi,
Thanks for the response. Upon removing the side cover, the problem was the cheapie aftermarket thrust bearing had come off the clutch rod. I'll now replace it with a Harley
part.
