I am replacing the mainshaft in my tranny. Everything is going good until I was going to install the shifter clutch. The manual says "side marked HIGH goes toward maindrive gear." Problem is nowhere on shift clutch does it say HIGH. It has 1 tapered side on the teeth, so to speak. Which way does the tapered side face? I am not at home right now so I can't compare it with the countershaft shift clutch. Do they interchange. Thanks.

Only OEM shifter clutches will have that " high " stamped on there , as posted above and I have no idea how long or what year(s) they did have them on there . Your shifting clutch could be out of spec's on the leading edge on that one side (worn ) (a photo would be helpful ) Look at photo below.
