handshift / suicide shift. working solution?

#1

Post by vain »

I need to build a working and good solution for shifting gears on my '49 pan head.
i do not have the rick'rack gearbox. i have tried a few ideas to get the shifting to work, but it's not good enough.

i would appreciate if some one had a few sketches or a manual / pictures of a working suicide shift on these tranny's.

thanks

Here's first gear. I was talking with Pat Kennedy about the suicide set-up and he said he had his arranged so that the release lever would shift it from first to second, when he pressed on the pedal.
There's plenty of clearance though, in this position.
