Transmission bushing.

Post by George Greer »

I have looked in the KB on transmissions and I can't seem to find what I am looking for, so to show how I can confuse myself I am asking this question about the 1st and 2nd gear bushing.

Is the bushing, 35791-36 used for 1st and 2nd gear ... 4 speed transmissions only,

and bushing 35789-36 used in 3 speed w/reverse transmissions only?

Looks like the 35791-36 bushing goes in the 4 speed only, at least that is what I am understanding.

Building a 4 speed foot shift transmission from scratch and want to be correct when I put it together.

Thanks, George

George,
For a 4 speed you need one each of 35789-36 and 35791-36. The first is for low gear, the second for 2nd. There is no 2nd gear bushing in a 3&R as it is a sliding gear.
