Correct foot shifter

#1

Post by Northman »

Okay...I've beat the bush on this one pretty good and have received multiple answers from several sources, so here go's...
Is there a correct toe shifter for around the 58 year.. XL excluded splined or not? could they both have been used? what would be ....or could be the most common for 58.
I have a headache,
Thanks

If you are referring to the shift lever itself, there is only one for '58. Un-splined smooth bore with a slight "s" curve, no steps, corners, shoulders, chrome, or any other bastardization!

Yup, thats what I thought. I needed confirmation on it rather than a debate with the other sources that insist that it was splined because it has a 58 #....I don't want to go over it all again....

Thanks Robbie. If ya ever get up this way, I got lunch.
