Kick back
Lately when starting the old girl I've been getting alot of kick back......way more than I ever had.........like it's scary to start. Recently went back to the stock forks...... 2" over before. Bike Stands way too straight now, have to shim kickstand eventually.Could this be a problem.....not being able to kick through totally? Have'nt mess with the timing and I am running a auto advance. Anybody have any suggestions?

Re: Kick back
Jarhead, I would check the timeing first thing. If its off, set he points first then the timing.

Re: Kick back
The most common reason for advancing of the set timing is wear upon the fiber cam follower.
The second is endplay upon the idler gear within the gearcase.
No doubt there are others.

Re: Kick back
Everthing is now back the way it was. Advance wasn't stuck open, points look good and regapped. Shimmed kickstand.......this was the problem. She was way too straight up and down. I couldn't kick through without wanting to tip over. Sidecar, you nailed it.......will keep Mbskeam and Cotton's suggestions in mind if it occurs down the road. Thanks.
