Wheel restoration

#1

Post by j**r**m »

Can anyone steer me in the right direction for a company that does wheel restoration? I picked up a couple of decent complete panhead wheels and I want to have the hubs rebuilt, rims and hubs repainted, spokes recad and have the wheel reassembled. Theres a gentleman that sells wheels time to time on ebay and his business is called Northern Knucklehead. They restore wheels, timers and generators. Have any of y'all had any work done at this place? I'm in the South Texas area.

There used to be a wheel specialist in Arkansas. I'll try to find his info for you.

If the rims are chrome, Classic Components in Cal. have done some good, reasonably priced work for me. Most any cad shop could do the spokes, or you could get new ss ones, and bead blast them. I don't know about the hubs. It depends on what they need. On hubs, I prefer powder coating for my own wheels. Of course, my bikes are for riding.... Mike
